The new building is located in the newly developed residential area Löns- und Ganghoferstrasse in the development plan M25 in Neu-Ulm. In addition to single-family houses and townhouses, it belongs to a group of three apartment buildings with which it forms a small settlement. The NUWOG project is an apartment building with 16 residential units in a traditional brick masonry, a classic timeless perforated façade. The building is surrounded by a large green space. The outdoor facilities include a separate sitting area and covered bicycles parking. The particular challenge of this project was to successfully meet the client’s high energy efficiency requirements, a very tight budget and high architectural quality, in spite of constantly rising construction prices. The building is characterized by a very compact and economical construction. Nevertheless, it has been possible to create an attractive barrier-free residential complex with a very special staircase for the residents. The external appearance is characterised by a classic timeless perforated façade in a noble brown tone and windows in a matt gold tone. The façade is structured by small bands that harmonise with the colour of the plaster and windows. The size of the apartments ranges from two room apartments with 50 m2, to three-room apartments with 65 m2 and to four-room apartments with 94 m2. They are particularly distinguished by the open floor plan in the living and dining area, which is grouped around a winter garden – season room. The high quality of life is created by spacious rooms, high-quality materials and very bright rooms with large windows.
